Dear Parchment Remote Families,
Hello! We are looking forward to this upcoming school year.
In compliance with our state guidelines and the Read By Grade 3 law we test all of our students 3 times per year using a universal screener. The screener we use in Parchment is called DIBELS. Each child in our district will be tested so we can review the data to determine appropriate reading levels and support/enrichment.
We will be conducting DIBELS testing for remote students on Wednesday September 16 or September 23. You will be receiving an email with a link to sign up for a time for your child to be tested. (If you have more than one child please schedule EACH child in an available slot.) The DIBELS testing takes about 10 minutes to complete. The test is more valid when done in person; however, arrangements could be made to be done remotely.
The testing will take place outside at Central Elementary. Masks are required by both our Title Reading Staff and your child. Due to time constraints and the number of remote students to be tested, being on time is extremely important. If weather conditions become an issue you will be contacted to reschedule.
